Spread your wings into the vibrant world of late Edwardian artistry with this spectacular antique sterling silver enamel butterfly brooch. Stamped with the famous JA&S maker's mark for John Atkins & Sons and hallmarked for Birmingham, 1918, this highly collectible First World War-era piece is a masterpiece of English enamelling heritage. The brooch is wonderfully made with no damage to the enamel which holds a stunning vibrant colour with the wings being a bright blue colour with accents of a bright orangey red and deep green green with the similar green tone being used for the body.

The reverse side is equipped with what appears to be its original, secure antique pin and C-clasp fastening. Celebrated by collectors for their whimsical beauty and superb craftsmanship, John Atkins & Sons butterflies from this specific era are increasingly sought after. This stunning piece serves as a wearable work of art, a magnificent gift, or a true crown jewel for any antique enamel collection.

As with all vintage and antique jewellery, there may be signs of wear conducive with age and use. It is an integral part of what makes them appealing, adding history, charm and individualism to each piece.
