A wonderful piece of jewellery in excellent condition made from 9ct yellow gold in a traditonal victorian/ edwardian style with fancy patterning to the top with a central panel featuring a round cut red stone of ruby and two small diamonds set to each side. on the rear is a small panel that could be used to turn the piece into a mourning jewellery piece and could hold hair or a small photos. the brooch is hallmarked to the rear for 9ct gold assayed in chester 1914.
